Where you live, can you see the Milky Way on a cloudless night?

YESNO

Albereo in the Summer Triangle

To find the Summer Triangle, look for the heart of the Milky Way, the most bright area of the swath of Milky Way that can be seen in your summer sky.

The Double Star Albereo is located toward the center of the triangle. With a pair of high powered binoculars or a telescope, the two stars can be distinctly seen.

Albereo in the Summer Triangle

If you live in a city or area where you cannot see the Milky Way, the stars of the Summer Triangle are still quite visible.

Your sky will look something like this.

Look first for Vega, the brightest of the three stars.

Vega will be the first of the stars to rise in the East at night, followed by Deneb and then Altair.
